Description
Issue Summary
- When an Excel/Google Sheets table or cell contains a number/hyphen and a line break, the content of the cell cannot be pasted into the Confluence current edit.
- If the number/hyphen or the line break is removed, the table can be pasted without any issues.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new Excel/Google Sheets file.
- Add the following into a cell.
1. Some Text
-
- To enter a line break in Excel
- For Windows – ALT + Enter.
- For Mac – Control + Option + Enter.
- To enter a line break in Excel
- Copy and paste the cell into an editor in Confluence.
Expected Results
- The content is copied into the editor as a table.
Actual Results
- Nothing happens when we paste the values in.
- The following request is seen in the Network tab, which seems to indicate that the paste worked without any issues.
- Request URL: <SITE>.atlassian.net/gateway/api/gasv3/api/v1/batch
{"success":true,"validationErrors":null,"message":null,"code":0}
Workaround
- We can work around the issue by either,
- Removing the dot, "." next to the number.
- Removing the line break.
- Adding another number after the line break.
