Description
Issue Summary
With the new inline comments feature, working on Confluence got easier with the possibility to add these comments from within the editor.
Though that's a great feature, it seems it is not working well when an inline comment is being added within a third-party macro.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install one of the below third-party add-ons on Confluence (for example):
- Create a new page;
- Insert a macro from one of the installed add-ons;
- After typing some text within the macros, add an inline comment somewhere in this text;
- Publish the page.
Expected Results
The inline comment is being shown in the text.
Actual Results
No inline comment can be seen.
Notes:
- It might be happening with other different third-party macros - the 2 mentioned above are just as an example, since they were macros we tested this behavior;
- From the published page, if we add ?focusedCommentId=COMMENT_ID#comment-COMMENT_ID at the end of the URL, the comment gets shown at the right side of the screen.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior, but removing the content from within the macros will get the inline comment shown in the text.
