Currently, it is not possible to a space template to be a global template, only promote it to be used on a space.

Suggested Solution

It would be very useful to have an option to change a space template or all space templates for a specific space to be transformed into global templates for the entire instance.

Workaround

1. Edit the space template;
2. Copy all of its contents;
3. Create a new global template and paste the contents.
