Description
Issue Summary
If you impersonate a user and then access Confluence, when you need to switch back to your account, the button to do so performs no action and does not switch the account back.
A recent behavior, is that when we try to impersonate a user, the avatar won't update for the impersonated user, giving the impression the impersonate didn't work.
Sometimes it works after a reload, sometimes it takes more time, as it had a delay.
Steps to Reproduce
- Impersonate a user;
- Click on the "switch back" button in the impersonation flag on the top right side of the page;
- Notice that it will have no effect, or sometimes it keeps appearing after the switch back to the user.
Expected Results
This button should take you back to your account.
After you click on Log in as user, you should be able to see the user's avatar right away and content they have access/their view.
Actual Results
There is no pop up displayed at this moment.
After clicking on log in as user, it may not appear as impersonating the user, you will need to wait or reload the page and see if it worked.
Workaround
- Click on the User's Profile Picture (Top Right) > Settings, or
- Navigate to <siteurl>/impersonate, which will reset the impersonate function. e.g. acme.atlassian.net/wiki/impersonate, or
- Log out from Confluence and then login back with your user account
