Problem
It's not possible to create footnotes in Confluence.
Suggestion
Define a citation at the bottom of the page with a reference tag like:
\ab01 - Title of the citation.
Then in the editor if would reference with some tag like \ref
{ab01}Once the page is published, I would be create to see the reference in the text show up at [1] and the reference list at the bottom of the page like
[1] ....
[2].....
