Severity 3 - Minor
Issue Summary
In Confluence, with the Legacy editor, if the user highlights a text equal to what is also included as a title for an expand macro, the following message will be displayed:
We can't add your inline comment; the section you highlighted may contain a macro or user mention. Try highlighting plain text.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new page and add a text to it (in our example, we will use "example test")
- Add an Expand macro and have a title equal to the previously added text ("example test"). Note, note the text on the body of the macro, but, the title/clickable link to expand it.
- Publish the page
- Highlight the text and tap the pop-up to create an inline text
Expected Results
The user should be able to create an Inline text
Actual Results
A message is displayed and the inline comment is not added.
Notes
This does not happen with the new editor
Workaround
- Select different text to be the target of the comment. Adding at least one word that is not in an "expand macro title" will avoid triggering this bug.
- Adjust the title of the Expand Macro so that it is different from the text being selected for the comment.
