Markdown has not yet reached feature parity with Confluence Wiki Format.  In particular, macros seem to be unsupported at this time. 

If there is an alternative, please let me know!

If no alternative is found, this should be escalated to a bug when the old editor is removed, as such it's been marked as a blocker for Staging.
