      Suggestion

Bring back the symbols option, like registered ยฎ, trademark and copyright(IP symbols), instead of emojis like they are currently in the fabric editor.
Currently is not possible to use those like it was in tiny editor(it was smaller). Symbol are bigger in fabric (as they only have the option to be inserted as an emoji) and superscript does not work with it.

      Workaround

On macOS, type CTRL + CMD + Space. An emoji pop-up will display. You can select >> in order to expand the menu and reveal non-emoji symbols which can be used in your page.

On Windows, open the Character Map and use it to find and insert your symbol. It will also teach you the proper key combination to use in case you want to type the characters quickly in the future. For more information, watch the video How to Use Character Map in Windows 10 / 8.1 / 8 / 7 / XP Tutorial.

Our organisation is committed to never moving to CLOUD as that would be like becoming the Black Knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail trying to continue to do his job with no legs and no arms!

.. maybe that is their strategy to get you wanting to pay for Data Center?

The new editor was such a terrible idea. There are so many obvious issues that have been brought to your attention and seem like simple fixes, yet you haven't fixed anything. Almost 5 years since this specific issue was reported, and there hasn't even been any progress made. Inserting symbols is such an essential function for so many businesses, and for us in STEM. PLEASE listen to your customers and fix the issues.

Sometimes I really question the UX decisions Atlassian is doing.

Was a non-destructive, simple to use feature. Now you have to do quirky workarounds, that are magnitudes slower.

After how the new tables slow me down, this slows me down as well now. Just why.

Why oh why. What if we are, say a big company, and want to mark our trademarks, or need to specify resistance and units? Sure copy/paste from Charmap works, but then takes so much more time (and user education). Did we go back to the early aughts?

We need to be able to add Greek letters as they are commonly used as special characters in our business and all STEM fields. Please bring this feature back to Cloud.

Using Confluence Cloud, the :copyright emoticon symbol cannot be resized. It is too large for our use within the body of a sentance. Thus we cannot use it. Need to be able to resize it, and superscript it also.

Restore the option to add special characters and symbols while creating content in the new editor. Much appreciated.

Coming from the server version, took me about 15 minutes to start looking for the symbol editor. Why oh why would you remove this feature. Did ANYONE at Atlassian talk to users before deciding this?
