Summary

It's no longer possible to change the visible text of the link for user mentions

Environment

Confluence Cloud

Steps to Reproduce

1. On a Confluence page, create a user mention and change the visible Link text while still in edit mode.
2. After publishing the page, the link text resets to the user profile text but still works.
3. The link text is no longer editable in any way after going to edit mode again.

Expected Results

• The custom text added to the user profile will still be visible after published.

Actual Results

• After publishing the page, the link text resets to the user profile text but still works.
• The link text is no longer editable in any way after going to edit mode again.

Workaround

Currently, there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
