Using // shortcut for date picker in the Fabric editor doesn't convert dates entered by text

Issue Summary

Dates entered via the keyboard using the // shortcut to open the date picker in the Fabric editor are not converted as they were are when using TinyMCE.

Environment

• Fabric editor

Steps to Reproduce

1. Use // to open date picker
2. Enter a date using the keyboard (01-01-2019 for example)
3. Press Enter

Expected Results

The text is converted to a calendar date

Actual Results

The text is not converted

Notes

Dates can be selected with the mouse

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
