Edits to Jira Issue macro do not save if search returns a single issue

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

When using a search result that returns a single issue (such as "key = EXAMPLE-1") if you set the display to be a table type and specify custom fields to be displayed. After you save and publish the page, editing the macro search (e.g. "key = EXAMPLE-2") and insert the macro, the changes to the macro will not be saved.

Alternatively, setting the macro to display "single issue" also does not allow the search to be changed.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. on a page, insert a Jira issue macro
      2. In the macro, set the search such that only one issue is returned. Then in the display settings, specify "table" as the display mode, and cut out a few of the fields to "customize" the fields that are displayed.
      3. insert the macro, and then publish the page.
      4. edit the page again, then edit the macro and change the search in the macro to point to another issue.
      5. insert the macro.

      Expected Results

The changes to the macro search are reflected.

      Actual Results

      The change is not persisted.

      Notes

      • This issue seems to impact the macro if single issue is selected.
      • This issue seems to not be triggered if you create the macro with a search that finds multiple issues then reduce the scope of the search to a single issue.

      Workaround

      • Remove the macro and recreate it from scratch.
      • Create the macro with a search that returns multiple issues first, then save it, finish by paring down the search to find only one issue. For example using the "key in ()" clause instead of "key =" clause in the JQL search.
