Issue Summary
When editing the Meeting Notes (both Global Templates or Space Templates), the $currentUser and $currentDate variables are gone - even if you don't touch them.
Environment
- Cloud
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to https://<SITE_NAME>.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/templates2/listglobaltemplates.action
- Edit the Meeting Notes template;
- Add some content on the table: any content, any word;
- Save the template;
- Create a new page using the Meeting Notes template.
Expected Results
Both template variables are presented there, so you can change the rest of the template and save it. After that, creating a new page from the Meeting Notes template will fill the current date and the participant name as the current user.
Actual Results
The template variables are gone and you must fill the information manually when creating a new page from the template.
Workaround
Manually add the template variables when you are editing the template.

Hi Flavio and everyone who reported this bug,
This is Sunny from the Confluence team. Thank you for your patience as we've worked on a fix for this bug. We have the fix ready for release, however, we are currently on pause to release any changes across Confluence due to a company-wide effort this week to prevent product outages. We know you have been waiting eagerly for this fix as we are, and we will resume the ability to release this fix as soon as we are sure that changes to your experience won't create a future product outage. Thank you again for your patience, and we hope to have some good news soon.
Best,
Sunny
