Summary
Excel file containing many columns will be broken into multiple pages when viewing it on a Confluence page
Environment
- Excel File with many columns
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new Excel file (.xlsx) with many columns, e.g 26 (or use the provided file Atlassian Test - Excel.xlsx)
- Upload this file into a page (by clicking + menu > Insert Files and Images)
- Select the file and publish the page;
- Click the file on the page to view it
OR
- Create a new Excel file (.xlsx) with many columns, e.g 26 (or use the provided file Atlassian Test - Excel.xlsx)
- Upload this file into a page (by clicking + menu > Insert Files and Images)
- Insert the macro Office Excel to preview the file
Expected Results
- Sheet to be displayed correctly, displaying all columns into a single page, as the original file;
Actual Results
- Sheet is broken into multiple pages when viewing it in Confluence
Notes
This also happens when the excel macro is used to display the file.
Workaround
Legacy Editor
- Upload the file to Google Drive
- Use the macro provided by our Google Drive for Confluence add-on
New Editor
- Upload the file to Google Drive or OneDrive
- Use the SmartLink feature 'Display embed' option - Smart Links, a richer way to hyperlink
