Opening block Smart Card Link opens in new tab or window

Issue Summary

When inserting a block link to an internal page in the New Editor, the link is automatically converted to a Smart Card Link.

When clicking on this link in view mode, the link is opened in a new window or tab. There is no way to prevent this behavior and default to opening in the same tab.

Environment

Confluence Cloud

Steps to Reproduce

1. Insert a link into a page which points to an internal page. Do not select any text when doing so.
2. A Smart Card Link is Created.
   
3. Publish the page. View the page.
4. Click on the newly created link.

Expected Results

Page should open in same tab.

Actual Results

Page is opened in new tab or window.

Notes

This does not occur with inline links which are linked via text.

Workaround

No workaround, as even when holding down CMD or CTRL still will open a new tab or window.
