Like many large services companies we have many users on our cloud instances (and rapidly growing).
As our Atlassian usage grows so does our Atlassian bills, and we need better ways of recovering our running costs from the various business units involved.
We can currently merge information from AzureAD with the Atlassian accounts and can tie an Atlassian account to a business unit which is great!
However if a business unit enables access to an external user for either Confluence or Jira, then we don't have the requesting business unit information available out of the APIs as this information is not stored.
We suggest that a simple 10 character alphanumeric field is added to each user that could be populated with some sort of charge back code.
Provided this field would be available via the API, this would help us with internal cost recovery.
This is a simple request but would provide positive benefits to large cloud instance users and would remove some of the barriers to growth.
