Copying and Pasting markdown from webpage on Fabric Editor renders unformatted text

      Issue Summary

      When someone grabs markdown text from a webpage and pastes it back into Confluence Fabric Editor, it is rendered as if no markdown was applied.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Visit a web page with markdown on it
      2. Copy the text with markdown
      3. Paste it into Confluence

      Expected Results

      Markdown is respected and text is formatted

      Actual Results

      The text is rendered as if there is no markdown

      Workaround

      Before pasting the text into Confluence, paste it into a plain text editor like notepad, sublime or gEdit. Then, copy the text from there.

            Can this please be fixed and the urgency set to high? 

            This is actually a showstopper bug. Like, we might have to abandon confluence over it, because we're stuck without a way to put our documentation into confluence, which is literally confluences only job.

            If the priority is set to `low` what is a realistic timeline for this to be fixed? Looks like this issues is over a year and half old.

            The bug report should mention that even if we paste Markdown which has come from a text editor = same result, unformatted Markdown text.

            I'm seeing similar behavior on Confluence Cloud, though I'm unable to get Markdown formatted text to copy and paste from a plain text editor as Diego suggests as a workaround.
