      Status Update 13 March 2020

As we're working through this feature and others, we wanted to address a lot of your concerns as to the future of the new editor and legacy editor.

      Description

I created a meeting notes page with the new tables experience
I embedded an image through the image option in the top bar
      I cannot resize an image
When I click on the image I get the table dialog below it, but those options are all about table changes, but not image changes
If I click table options (the leftmost one) the dropdown falls off the viewable screen.

Each time I save a page that has a table with images in the cells, I get an email diff that shows each image deleted/re-added. The images that get changed are tiny after saving.

Any progress on this? One thing is manual resizing. At the very least there should be some standardized presets (e.g. thumbnail). Also missing more advanced editing options, as I'm used to from other Wikis (e.g. MediaWiki).

Is anyone aware if there is a new ticket for forced undesired image resizing with images in tables?  I am running into this issue.

As soon as I have pictures in more than 2 columns or rows (maybe both?), they seem to get interlocked with margins or spacing or something and you can't possibly override it.

            I miss having options.

I believe the ticket is closed because you can now resize the images in tables using the handles. However, the results are very unpredictable, but I guess that's probably a separate ticket.

Yes. This has a big impact on our documentation since the exported PDFs of pages with table images is unusable.

This is a key feature for us as well...what is the status? Will this be fixed and if so, when?

As many others have also expressed, we'd really like this to be resolved. Thank you!

It's a key feature for me. It constrains me from passing to new version of Pages,

I very depend on ability to put several small screenshots in a table cell so others click them to view.

            Please, fix it.

This is a significant regression; i heavily depend on the ability to resize images in a table cell

+1 to be able to resize imager inside an epic or tickets, etc... right now to embed reference images for the team makes it difficult to read since the images are huge and the scroll becomes tedious. Thanks in advance

I too would love for this to be brought up to parity.

I'm having the same issue with images in tables.

I have added images within Expand sections within a table.

            video example: https://www.screencast.com/t/845kRLVOY

it also loads so slowly if you have a few dozen not too large images on the page.

Typical use case for me: lots of included screenshots shrunk to thumbnails to save space that can be clicked on to expand.   I resized these to a consistent size and added a drop-shadow, which looked very tidy.

It's also a huge problem for us. We use simple tables for our team reports. But now images totally break the tables

This has gone very quiet.  This is a MAJOR feature regression, amazed this slipped through.  Makes an absolute mess of many pages, have we also lost the ablility to add nice borders and add links?

When I use include page macro images in the included table won't show properly, no matter what I do.  The image shows at full size and squishes other columns.

Just to further illustrate the pain point...placing app screenshots inline with text just dominates the ticket view, with no ability to scale down.

edit: looks like I'm unable to upload an image

Yeah, putting images side by side would be nice as well (after resize). That goes for regular images outside the tables as well though.

Hi! I' the one who started topic (SEN-12157171) about resizing images

            The key features are:

            • ability to resize images whereever it is - in table, or in text.
            • ability to resize multiple images (that are in table, or in text, etc.) to the same size, so I can, for example, put several small images in a text, or in table cell.

I just created a requirements document with at least a dozen screenshots in a table. And now I realise I can't resize any of the images. The images look fine in the Confluence page but are massive when I export to PDF. So not being able to resize images is a big annoyance.
