Summary

The backtick (`) markdown to monospace text is not working on macOS using German keyboard layout.

Environment

• Confluence Cloud
• macOS (10.14.3)
• any browser
• Using the German keyboard Input Sources

Steps to Reproduce

Try to use the back tick to insert monospaced text

1. edit a page
2. type `
3. type any text
4. type ` again

Expected Results

The text inserted between ` ` should be monospaced and the back tick characters shouldn't be displayed

Actual Results

The text inserted between ` ` is not monospaced and the back tick characters are displayed

Workaround

Use the monospace font from the toolbar
