This happens in both the full page editor, and the inline comment editor
This has been reported to happen in both Cloud and Server, but I have not yet been able to reproduce it on a Server instance

      Console output – looks promising

Console output – possibly red herrings
The following console output occasionally appears when you try to add a page comment:

Data with key com.atlassian.plugins.atlassian-connect-plugin:confluence-atlassian-connect-autoconvert-resources.connect-autoconvert-data has already been claimed batch.js:32:1062

The following console output appears when you try to add an inline comment:

Data with key com.atlassian.plugins.atlassian-connect-plugin:confluence-atlassian-connect-autoconvert-resources.connect-autoconvert-data has already been claimed batch.js:32:1062
error while triggering: this.$(...).position(...) is null batch.js:370:165
