Currently, The Atlassian Companion only registers the first save operation in a desktop application, after which the file remains open and editable. Further saves are not registered, which can leave to data loss in cases where users are unaware of this flow.

The Companion user experience would benefit greatly from allowing multiple saves or providing a way for the user to signal when the changes are complete and an upload can be made.

[CONFCLOUD-62098] Improve Atlassian Companion to allow multiple saves

Tina Bolton added a comment - The companion app was deprecated https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Removing-the-Companion-app-from-Confluence-Cloud/ba-p/1884657/

It's possible for the program to work as intended but the messages be incorrect. If that is just not clear then I would agree that it's not a bug. But if it says one thing (changes are uploaded to Confluence) but the reality is different (if they are it isn't accessible / retrievable) then this is a bug.

            If I...

            • Save once + press update so my first changes are saved.
            • Save again, noting the message saying the changes are uploaded to Confluence.

...then how do I access those uploaded changes and make them the current version?
