      Problem Definition

In the Cloud Confluence documentation for Add formatting to your page the examples are showing the previous page layout offerings.

At this time, we now offer both a Fixed Width Single Column Layout (which spans the whole page) or simply a Single Column Layout which is a fixed width:

In the documentation, you're not able to see this new offering.

      Suggested Solution

I propose that we describe the different page layouts available and what they do, and also include the new offering.

             this is still not fixed

This was created in 2018!! 4 years and so many comments yet they don't think this is worth a fix!

O waoh, I was trying to do this for 20 minutes and then started googling and found this issue. Were looking to move to Confluence and I wanted to trial it and this is a strange exclusion to experience given it used to be possible :/

Please bring this feature back.  I would understand if it was replaced with something better, but why would you remove a feature that limits the ability to edit the format of a page.

Just voted for this.  I've been a long time confluence user and just moved to the cloud version.  I can't believe this feature is missing.  Please add it! Using the page as the single column is ridiculous.  So much harder to move things around that way.  Please gives back single column layout!

One of the best things about documenting in Confluence is being able to use sections for content.  It leaves one free to draft documentation and then worry about perfecting it later (1 column / 2 column / move up / move down, etc).  Without the single section functionality of before, it is impossible to move the single column sections and yes.....we end up having to copy / paste everything.  It's even worse trying to revert from having a panel in a 2 column layout and moving that to a single column layout.  PLEASE bring back this important functionality.  Also, how about better "drag and drop" editing?  That would be helpful too.

This seems like a basic requirement and no-brainer. Who in Atlassian thinks up that removing this kind of revert to single column option is even acceptable?

Without this option, or the wiki markup editor to undo it (which I do not think is a useful option, even as a workaround) leaves users only with having to cut and paste entire content sections back out of potentially accidental or what-if multi-column layout experiments.

It just makes Confluence less usable and in fact a pain to use. Are you trying to chase us off from Confluence?

How does this kind of stuff pass usability study sessions, or are you not doing that anymore?

As much as single column is needed for layout reason, would be good to be able to add more than 3 columns as well.

Single columns are necessary when using mixed column numbers in one document. You could choose a single column before, so why would you remove this functionality in the new version? Please bring it back!
