Description
Summary
Customers who have customized the Columns in their Jira Issue/Filter Table macros in Confluence have noticed that some columns based on Custom Fields cannot be sorted
Environment
- Cloud tested with Chrome (Version 64.0.3282.167 (Official Build) (64-bit)) and Firefox (58.0.2)
Steps to Reproduce
- Add a Jira Issue Macro to a Confluence Page and Configure the Display Option as a Table including Custom Fields like the Cascading List, Select List (single choice) or Text Field (single line) types
- View the Page and attempt to sort by one of the Custom Field Columns
Expected Results
When Viewing the Confluence Page, we can sort based on these Custom Fields
Actual Results
Mousing over the Columns does not allow us to Click on the Column Headers for Some Custom Field Types:
From testing it seems like Select List (single choice) or Text Field (single line) Custom Fields are not sortable and show a regular mouse cursor:
Whereas sortable columns are highlighted and can be clicked:
Notes
User and Date Picker Custom Fields along with regular System Fields (Status, Priority, Summary, Description) appear to be sortable without issues
This appears to be intermittent as customers have reported being able to sort these Custom Fields; may work on an initial page load but not after a refresh
Workaround
- Sort the Table through the JQL used on the Macro; this will not allow you to change the sort but at least put the order based on the Unsortable Custom Field
- Wait for ~24 hours and check the column again
