Summary
Customers performing an HTML Export of their Spaces have noticed that no Comments are being exported
Environment
- Cloud
Steps to Reproduce
- Add Comments to a Confluence Page
- Navigate through Space Tools > Export > HTML Export > Custom Export
- Ensure that Include Comments is Selected
- Select pages
- Export
Expected Results
Per the selected option, Comments are Exported
Actual Results
Notes
The Normal Export states:
Generates a HTML file for each page in this space, excluding blogs, comments, and attachments.
Not sure if this should also affect Custom HTML Exports; if so, the "Include Comments" Checkbox should be removed
Workaround
None. If you don't mind making development effort, consider to retrieve comments via REST API and export them into the expected format (HTML, in this case).

My boss asked me if there was a way for him to export a Confluence page with the comments attached. I checked the documentation, found that this was (supposed to be) possible, and proudly shared the instructions with him. When he tried it, no comments were exported. I THEN did some more searching and found this issue. In addition to adding my voice to the list of people requesting that you fix this, I'd like to also suggest that maybe you remove the parts of your documentation that refer to it, so future efforts by others to solve problems for their bosses don't end with egg-on-face.
