In the new look Confluence, when I click on the top level in the breadcrumbs, it directs me to the page tree. Previously, it directed to the home page.  From what I can find on other websites with location-based breadcrumbs, it's fairly standard practice for the top level to go to the home page, so I believe this is what most users will expect. Being directed to a page tree instead is confusing, makes it hard to find the home page again, and diminishes the value of the home page as an aid to navigation.
