Problem Definition
Currently, Confluence tracks changes via page history Page History and Page Comparison views
It would be helpful that rather than seeing the changes made in the history, that they can be actively tracked in Collaborative Editing, for example, by enabling a "Track Changes" functionality
Suggested Solution
Rather than having the modifications happening in real-time, showing the changes made (e.g. deleted lines showing as strikethrough rather than being deleted, green for when a line is added, blue when formatting is changed). In addition, the page administrator would have to approve these changes before they go live. Include as well the ability to switch between proposed changes and approve them individually.
Why this is important
Allows users to have active involvement in updating of a document and understanding the changes, more control over how the end result of a page looks.
