Global theme issues—sidebar not expanding to correct level/current page not highlighted in sidebar

      Hello,

I am trying to use the global theme. I have configured the sidebar to have multiple page trees. The current page is not being highlighted in the relevant page tree*, just in the page tree at the bottom (which I'm trying to hide by adding loads of blank lines because I don't want it there...).
This works in the documentation theme.

      Thanks,

      Helen

*Update: the page IS being highlighted, but the page tree is collapsed so you can't see that the page is highlighted. The page tree should expand to the correct level (where the highlighted page is...)

            Thank you Rachel...

Hi Helen, the team are still investigating the bug, and hopefully we'll have good news soon. I created CONF-41129 to make sure this very specific case (include macro used to show a page with a page tree macro in the sidebar) is addressed.

            Hi Rachel,

That's really bad news I was so looking forward to this being fixed... I thought that fixing it in the Include Page macro was what this bug was about!

The suggested workaround isn't going to work for me because I need multiple Include Page macro(s) for my site to be any use to customers: https://newvoicemedia.atlassian.net/wiki/ This space is still using the documentation theme as I CANNOT change it until this bug is fixed.

Again, I don't believe that this bug is resolved. According to the instructions for switching from the documentation theme to the default theme this SHOULD work as it worked PERFECTLY in the documentation theme. In the instructions for switching to the new theme it tells me I should "Paste the wiki markup for your custom sidebar content (navigation), header and footer into the fields provided then Save." This does not work.

            Kindest regards,

            Helen

            Hi helen.griffith and bob.swift@charter.net,
Sorry to hear this fix is not working in your spaces. The team have been investigating and it appears that the problem still occurs when the Page Tree macro is added to the sidebar via the Include Page macro. I’ve raised CONF-41129 to deal with this specific case. A workaround you can use in the meantime is to add the Page Tree macro directly in the sidebar field.

(Deleted previous comment. Thought it was working but it was on a documentation theme space... Apologies.)
