Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a page hierarchy at least 4 levels deep.
2. Create a page at the root of the space called "sidebar" and add a page tree macro. Set the depth of the page tree macro to 2.
3. Go to Space Tools > Look and Feel > Sidebar, Header and Footer and add the following wikimarkup

{include:sidebar}

4. Navigate to the deepest page in the page hierarcy (by URL, not by expanding the page tree in the sidebar)

Expected result: The page tree is expanded and the current page highlighted

Actual result: the page tree is not expanded, and the current page not highlighted
