Broken thumbnails are shown for images with effect in a Confluence Page
 

Environment

• Confluence Cloud

Affected sites experience:

• Exisiting images with effect are rendered as broken thumbnails in a page.
• Clicking on the broken thumbnail shows the image correctly
• Edit page, remove the effect and the image will render in edit page
• Can't set effects to images. It keeps loading with spinning wheel

Expected Results

Thumbnail images with effects render on the page.

Actual Results

Images are not rendering correctly in the page. 

Notes

 As Confluence the attachment thumbnail download times out, you'll likely experience slow loading pages. 

Workaround

Remove the image effect and the images will load.

Status

We have identified the cause of the problem and are coming up with a plan to fix the impacted sites.
