German Umlaute are not exported correctly to Google Calendar

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding bug report.

When subscribing to an EventCalender with Google Kalendars Umlauts are not displayed correctly.
You can try this with this calendar which should have events on Sundays called "Vokü" in early 2012-01:

[CONFCLOUD-50847] German Umlaute are not exported correctly to Google Calendar

            Hi,

I recreated the calendar and now the Umlauts are displayed correctly.
I did not change anything. I guess it is a Heisenbug, may one misconfigured server at Google or whatever.

I guess you can close this issue.

            Regards,

            Kolja

            Hi Kolja,

Are you still experiencing this problem?

Do you get any error messages from Google Calendars? Try copying and pasting the url into Google Calendars instead of using the 'Add to Google Calendar' button as this tends to give you more feedback from Google if there is a problem.

            I just did this.
I create one event today in this feed:
            http://www.prowokulta.de/calendar/previewcalendar.action?subCalendarId=0621fa9a-5fbf-4624-afee-502cf057b464

It does not show up at all in Google Calendar.

            Hi Kolja,

Have you tried creating a brand new calendar and subscribing from Google Calendars since upgrading to 1.8.2? I can indeed reproduce the issue if I use your feed. I wonder if it is possible that Google Calendar has stored the calendar settings incorrectly and is sharing the incorrect setting for all users.

            Hi,

I guess this means that for the specific link you can reproduce it?
If it works on your system and not on mine, maybe it is some setting? Either on the server or in confluence?

            Hi Kolja,

Can you tell me what your system file encoding is? It's in the Confluence system information page.

            Hi Kolja,

I could not reproduce the issue. See screenshot below:

What you're seeing may be related to some caching on Google's side. Perhaps you might be interested to resubscribe to the calendar by following the steps below:

            1. Unsubscribe from the calendar from Google Calendar
            2. Reset the subscription link from Team Calendars
            3. Re-subscribe to the calendar
