Ability to Query a calendar

As a customer, I would like to be able to filter calendar events (event types, date/time ranges) and control the output (list view, calendar view), so that custom information can be displayed on a page.

I specifically need this to be able to tell who (person on a team) is on call (event type) today (date range - would need to dynamically filter today's date)
