Custom event types after import becomes default events

    • 9
    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Create a new Calendar.
      2. Create a new Event with a custom Event type.
      3. Export as .ics.
      4. Import to Team Calendars.

      Expected behavior:

The Event should have the event type that we selected.

      Actual behavior:

The event type shows just as an event.

esther.strom, sorry for the confusion. I left

open because that was assigned to a developer and work has already commenced on it, whereas this ticket had no development work attached to it. There's no way to merge the tickets, nor copy move the completed work to this ticket easily. But be assured, development has started on this issue.

            James.

Uh, no. This is the original; CONFCLOUD-68823 is the duplicate. This is another instance of Atlassian closing a ticket with a lot of watchers and votes in favor of a "duplicate" with fewer participants.

This is currently a major road blocker to getting our team migrated from BTFW to cloud.

We make extensive use of custom event types, and at present this bug will prevent us migrating to Team Calendars.

The only alternative appears to be to manually recreate events (far too many) or some other manual work around.

As such we're currently investigating migrating to shared Exchange calendars instead of continuing to use Team Calendars.

If this bug was fixed, we wouldn't have even discussed moving off them.

any udpate on this ticket? I have to migrate loads of team calendars from one instance to a new one and this bug is preventing me to do so.
            thanks

We'll attempt to schedule this ticket fairly soon. Current sprints are full, but the effort to resolve this issue is relatively small, so we'll bump the priority and resolve it at the next opportunity.

This bug is affecting how we use Team Calendars outside of Confluence. This is critical and may cause us to move away from Team Calendars for solutions if not fixed soon.
