Description
NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding bug report.
Summary
When adding an image link in the site welcome message, the clickable are for the link spans the entire section, as opposed to just the image area.
Environment
Tested in Confluence 5.8.17, and 5.9.4 (using the old dashboard)
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to -> General Configuration -> Global Templates and Blueprints
- Edit the 'Default Welcome Message'
- Add an image to the editor, click on the image and click on 'Link'
- Enter any external/internal URL
- Go back to your dashboard
Expected Results
The image can be clicked to take the user to the link
Actual Results
The image is clickable but so is the entire width of the welcome message panel. In the image below, you can see that the entire area in the red box can be clicked and will take users to the URL:
Workaround
I have been unable to find a workaround so far. This can maybe be fixed through the global layout for the dashboard, or using custom CSS.
