Problem Definition
Confluence does not provide a functionality which could allow attachments and child pages to inherit labels from its parent page. It could be useful for building RSS and Recently-Updated feeds.
Currently only one Marketplace plugin provides solution for labels inherited during the page creation but it does not maintain them: if the page is moved the labels will not be updated accordingly.
Suggested Solution
- It would be good to expand the present labeling system with:
- Parent-child relations
- Synonyms
- Inheritance
- And to develop a toolkit to maintain the existing labels.
Workaround
1. Currently the only possible way to inherit the labels from the parent page is to utilize the existing paid add-on from the Marketplace: Labeler - not available at this point.
2. You can create a page template with in a space add label to it. Use this template to create a new page and that will have label added to it.
3. Other that that I could explore an app where in child pages will inherit the labels from its parent pages and more.

- Gathering Interest
Adding it manually is such a long and tedious process though. I used to be able to copy and paste from one to the next, but now it needs to be indivdually added.
The child inheritence for a page as above would be a godsend and would save everyone a lot of time when creating pages underneath a parent.
