Conflluence is a great product; I recommend it widely. However lack of traditional wiki markup in more recent versions is a large gap.
The push to WYSIWYG editing is understandable for the product goals stated in support, but neglects traditional users who prefer wiki markup. Previous versions of Confluence supported both.
Use cases include:
- Accessibility (WYSIWYG often requires greater mouse use)
- Large edits outside Conflulence (e.g., vi or sed of markup)
- Portable edits between systems
- User preference
Please provide traditional wiki markup for roundtrip editing.
