      Status Update: 4 February 2022

Hi folks, my name is Daniel Ayele and I'm a Product Manager on the Confluence team where I manage our collaboration feature family. Thank you for your feedback and suggestion to add the ability to send an email to a Confluence group. In the past year we've brought some improvements to the Confluence share feature that make it more performant and useful (including continued support of the ability to share content to groups with a custom message and the new ability to share directly to Slack). While we don't currently have plans to support a feature for sending emails to Confluence groups, we are continuing to make improvements to the Confluence share feature to make it easier for users to share content with people, groups, and teams both inside and outside of their organizations.

It would be great for administrators to be able to send an email to a group, list of groups, or list of users. Similar to the mail page functionality (CONF-1062), except that you might want to email a short message to a group of Confluence users that isn't on a page anywhere.

      Specifically:

      • form should be accessible only by site admins
      • ability to select one or more Confluence users or groups to send email to
      • text field to enter email body
      • send email using Confluence's configured mail server.

      Some nice-to-haves:

      • save templates and select a specific template to send
      • enable reply to email (need to managed replies in diff system)
      • keep record of emails sent. to group, date sent and copy of email text.
