Linking to anchors does not always jump to the correct heading

XMLWordPrintable

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding bug report.

When you link to anchors in Confluence, clicking those links does not always result in jumping to the appropriate header. Our customer reported this to be an issue on Firefox, however I also experienced it with Chrome in some cases.

Strangely, the problem does not always appear for me, but I surely have seen it a number of times.

It seems as the following is happenning: the browser loads the page, immediately jumps to the heading (anchor), but in some cases rendering the page (tables, possibly images and other content) alters the full size of the page, then upon full rendering the browser is at a wrong header.

      Screenshot of the desired result:

      Screenshot of the actual jump:

I have attached a sample space export that contains two pages, one linking to the other, clicking to that link should all times jump to the correct header. Sorry for not being able to provide step-by-step reproduction steps, but the issue happened randomly at my box when reproducing.
