Breadcrumbs pretty much always collapse (showing ... for collapsed part) and the collapse is inevitably in the wrong place. A user is most likely to want to go to the parent of the current page, and that is always hidden, so getting there requires two clicks – one to open the "...", and one to go to the page. The collapse should be farther up the hierarchy.
