Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.
Use Case:
1. Confluence User A sends email to Confluence User B
2. Confluence User B forwards email to a Confluence page
3. Email Content from Confluence User A is added to Confluence Page as a Comment as User A
Justification:
Get folks to post comments on confluence pages and use the Watchers feature instead of sending emails that get lost in email hell.
Challenges:
1. need to determine a pattern for assigning an email to a confluence instance and page within that instance
2. matching users based on email addresses (both User A & B)
3. authentication of incoming email
4. error response if unable to authenticate or user does not have permissions for that page
5. parsing the right content from the email (mot recent reply before the forward or entire chain?)
