NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.
If you create a page with the following wiki markup, none of the lines renders as monospaced text:
{{ foobar}} {{foobar }} {{ foobar }} {{foo}}bar foo{{bar}}
This prevents you using monospace text in some circumstances.
Workaround
In the latter two cases, any kind of punctuation will enable the monospace to work. For example:
abso-{{techno}}-lutely {{enum}}'s
Both the above cases will render the monospace text correctly in recent versions of Confluence.
