Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.
We import content to the Confluence wiki from XML source (via a 3rd-party import facility). As part of the transform, we assign sort IDs to the imported pages based on an XML map file. We then use a pagetree macro in the layout to render the custom-ordered tree view of the content.
It is critical that we are able to programmatically assign the sort IDs. The manual drag-n-drop approach in Confluence is insufficient.
In researching alternatives, we found a mention of a Page.position property in the Confluence API documentation. However, it doesn't appear to be exposed to the remote API.
