Testing the new installer for Confluence v2.8 lead to the following problems:

      1) No option for choosing between creating a short cut on the desktop or adding it to the start menu.
      2) Did not select the application to be installed in "Program Files", but the Confluence menu item is added to the menu
      3) Runs as a service, even when chose not to
      4) Uninstaller keeps a Java process running in the background, making it impossible to delete the actual install-folder
      5) Provide examples on the Port selection screen, for people to make an informed decision
      6) Chose not to launch the application immediately from the installer, then assuming the startConfluence.bat script should be run to start Confluence, gives the following message in the cmd window, which is not very helpful:

      wrapper|service is not installed.....

      7) Same goes with the stopConfluence.bat script. The application does shut down as it is run as a service with the above message being displayed in the cmd window. The actual shut down is done via Confluenceconsole.bat
      8) Chose to run the Confluenceconsole.bat instead, brings up the application, but also keeps filing up the console with repeated packet sent checks to the JVM, for the lifetime of the application instance.
      9) Please rephrase the message on the Start Confluence in browser screen to something like Launch the Setup Wizard.
      10) Failed to upgrade using the installer as Tomcat refuses to start with following errors in the logs:

      14/04/2008 14:31:49 org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start
      INFO | jvm 1 | 2008/04/14 14:31:50 | SEVERE: Error listenerStart
      INFO | jvm 1 | 2008/04/14 14:31:50 | 14/04/2008 14:31:49 org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start
      INFO | jvm 1 | 2008/04/14 14:31:50 | SEVERE: Context [] startup failed due to previous errors
      INFO | jvm 1 | 2008/04/14 14:31:50 | 14/04/2008 14:31:50 org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11BaseProtocol start
      INFO | jvm 1 | 2008/04/14 14:31:50 | INFO: Starting Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080

      11) Out of the 8 times that I ran this installer by uninstalling the previously installed instances and choosing the same directory for every install, apart from the first run of the installer, I have not been prompted to select the Tomcat port on any of the remaining executions.
