When editing in Rich Text Editor (RTE) the cursor jumps to the top of the page unexpectedly in Internet Explorer 8. I believe this was an issue with Internet Explorer 6 long ago. Doesn't appear to occur in WME or Preview

[CONFSERVER-17906] RTE jumps to top of page in Internet Explorer 8

Marking this one as Obsolete as it relates to the old WYSIWYG Editor which no longer exists in that form.

Same Problem with Confluence 4.3.2 and Internet Explorer 9.

I am somerewhere in the text and marke a format. For example "Bold" Text. The cursor jumps to the top, and the text was not formated and expected. Happens very often and makes me crazy. When I go to the text again and mark it and apply the same format as before, sometimes it works, sometimes not and again jumps to the first line of the text.
Happens especially often when formatting entire table rows.

We use IE 8 and Windows XP
We upgraded to Confluence 3.0.1 last night
RTE now jumps to the top of page in Internet Explorer 8 whilst editing
It can jump to the top of page when idle or when user is editing; seems unpredicatable.
Is a fix to this irritating behaviour available yet, or planned soon ?

Faced same issue in Confluence 3.1 and IE8 in compatibility mode. When I disable compatility mode the problem is gone.

Confirmed, Confluence 3.0.2 IE 7/8 in IE7 compatibility mode.

For our users it's when it auto-saves the draft, not when they undo.

Could this possibly be CONF-6117 ?

I believe some of our users have noticed this as well. It happens whenever it auto-saves the draft. If the page being edited is long when it displays the 'draft saved at xxx' message at the top, it causes the edit window to scoll all the way to the top, losing the users edit position.
