unable to use clover 1 license file with clover2 maven plugin

      jdk 1.5, maven 2.0.9, vista ultimate

      I opened an issue at http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOV-303 . It was closed stating that I should use the new clover2 plugin. However when I try that it tells me that my license is no good (it's only for clover 0.x/1.x). Is there a way to make clover 2 plugin work with that license, or is my company being forced to buy a new license since we use maven?
