    Description

Our documentation Global Permissions Overview states:

To add permissions for a group:

First add the group to Confluence, if you have not already done so.
Choose Edit Permissions. The 'Edit Global Permissions' screen appears.
Enter the group name in the Grant browse permission to box in the 'Groups' section. You can search for the group name.
      Choose Add.
The group will appear in the list and you can now edit its permissions.

To add permissions for a specific user:
(Consider adding the user to a group and then assigning the permissions to the group, as described above, instead of assigning permissions to the specific user.)

First add the user to Confluence, if you have not already done so.
Choose Edit Permissions. The 'Edit Global Permissions' screen appears.
Enter the username in the Grant browse permission to box in the 'Individual Users' section. You can search for the username.
      Choose Add.
The username will appear in the list and you can now edit its permissions.

However, when you follow those steps, the "Grant browser permission" box is not displayed at all.

The correct way to do that in Cloud is by the following step-by-step:

      1. Go to the Application Access part, under the administration (https://DOMAIN.atlassian.net/admin/apps)
      2. Then, head to the View Configuration (https://DOMAIN.atlassian.net/admin/accessconfig)
      3. There, you will be able to see the current users/groups that already have permissions, which will be reflecting on your Global Permissions page.
      4. Locate Confluence, and click on Add group, in the bottom of the page.
      5. After adding the group, and granting the correct permissions, go back to the Global Permissions of your instance and you will see the group/user there. You just need to work with the remaining permissions.

Also, if you need to remove a user/group from the Global Permissions, you need to go to View Configuration (https://DOMAIN.atlassian.net/admin/accessconfig) and uncheck the options that are checked. This will remove the user/group from the Global Permissions.

Please update the documentation accordingly to avoid confusion from our customers.
