Please support a list of email addresses associated with each Cloud user, rather than only one.

Use case

Our users switch frequently between email addresses in two domains. Some of them are usually user@a.com and some of them are usually user@b.com, but many of them switch between the two.

• For Jira Cloud, we use doubled mail handlers to receive messages regardless whether the user sends their request to helpdesk@a.com or to helpdesk@b.com - they both become issues in the same IT project.
  But If a user sends a message as user@b.com but their Atlassian Cloud account knows them as user@a.com, the ticket that's created won't know it's the same user.

• Similar confusion ensues with our Confluence Cloud activity.

How can we associate multiple email addresses with each Atlassian Cloud user?

Atlassian Support's proposed workaround

Currently there is no way to associate multiple email addresses with a single JIRA account. You would have to setup two different accounts for each user in order for them to use multiple email addresses.
One thing you could do is have an email account that multiple people use to submit tickets to JIRA with. You could create one account for this email address. Then under your specific project you could set that account as the default reporter. This would only consume one license but would allow multiple people to submit tickets using it.

Reason the workaround is unsuitable

Obviously we don't want to manage twice as many user accounts, and we have security-driven policies prohibiting shared access to account credentials. Both workarounds separate the individuals from the issues with which they're concerned - they'd need to login to both accounts to interact with both lists.
