Add custom / JQL search to agile/kanban board

Would it be possible to add a way to search within the board you are looking at either via simple text or using jql

I want to give users ways to filter the board without having to have to write lots of quick filters to satisfy the filters that the team might want.

for example we may have 10 epics in progress and want to be able to easily filter by epic but I don't want to have to configure 10 filters as come next sprint I may have 2 more to add in
