Description
Users are receiving the following message when trying to create an issue: "You will not be able to create new issues because the user limit for your JIRA instance has been exceeded, please contact your JIRA administrators."
This is happening because when a V3 add-on is installed in the instance, a user is created and added to the jira-users group. Since this is the group that grants access to JIRA, one of the licenses is consumed by the user.
Also, the add-ons are added to the atlassian-addons-admin group, and this group is granted JIRA Administrators Global Permission, which also consume one of the user licenses
Workaround:
- Identify the members of the atlassian-addons group at: https://instancenamehere.atlassian.net/admin/groups/view?groupname=atlassian-addons
- Uninstall all add-ons that have users that are members of this group. This can be done from https://instancenamehere.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/upm#manage (JIRA).
