We should find a way to flush the JIRA user cache and make it synchronize with Crowd again after a Crowd import (doImport() / https://studio.atlassian.com/wiki/display/JST/Studio+Importer#StudioImporter-SequenceDiagram). This would save the support team one JIRA bounce.

Tim mentioned that there is a job running (hourly) in JIRA which does that sync operation. This could might be a good starting point for a possible implementation for the Crowd Notifier Servlet.
