Currently, users of Jira and Confluence may not be immediately aware when there is an ongoing incident or outage affecting Atlassian Cloud services, as reported on Atlassian Status. This can lead to confusion, unnecessary troubleshooting, and increased support requests.
Actually, Bitbucket Cloud supports this.
Add a native feature to Jira and Confluence Cloud that automatically displays a prominent banner or notification within the product UI whenever Atlassian Status reports an incident or degraded performance affecting that product.
Key Requirements:
- The banner should appear at the top of all pages for all users in the affected instance.
- The banner should include a summary of the incident and a direct link to the relevant Atlassian Status page for more details.
- The banner should update or disappear automatically as the incident status changes (e.g., when the incident is resolved).
- Admins should have the option to customize the banner’s appearance or add additional messaging if desired.
- Admins should have the option to turn the banner on/off.
- The feature should support both Jira and Confluence Cloud (and ideally other Atlassian Cloud products).
Example Scenario:
If Atlassian Status reports a major outage affecting Jira Cloud, all users logging into Jira would immediately see a banner such as:
“Notice: Jira Cloud is currently experiencing an incident. See details and updates at Atlassian Status.”
