With new navigation in Jira, items from top navigation were moved to left menu and project navigation was moved to the top which clattered the view.

Request to have an ability for Jira admins to be able to pin some (say 5) Top-Level Nav items as drop-down menus to the Top Nav bar. i.e., moving them from the left Nav back to the top Nav. This would preserve the familiarity, efficiency, and functionality of a drop-down menu AND simplify the left-sidebar.

This would be a win-win and would allow Atlassian to add new Nav items (to the left sidebar) in future.

To maintain similarity across products, the same idea could be applied to other products - e.g. Confluence > Spaces or Templates.
